I have been taking some of my old chili recipes and re-making them in to more current versions. What i mean by that is that i add new things like instead of ground beef i use buffalo to for a more health version of the chili recipe. Also i try to make it more of a meal that will stand on its own. This is because i’m lazy and don’t want to cook alot of dishes.
So this month is dust of the old chili recipes and give them a rehab.

I have the hydroponic garden going strong this year with lots of chili and tomatoe plants. They are doing great and i should have a batch of chilies befor the 4th of July. I will turn them into a paste and freeze them to use all year long.

So here I am in Ottawa Ca and i haven’t seen Chili at any of the resteruants that i have eaten at. I’m going to have to start asking around about it. They seem to like eating a dish of french fries with cheese curds and brown gravy. They eat that here like we eat nachos in the us. But no Chili Recipes up here.

Well the big weekend is just around the corner and i am working hard on a couple of new chili recipes. I have my hydroponic garden running at full capacity with a variety of chilies to spicy things up. This year i thing the theme will be on fresh chilies and chili recipes that are healthy for you.
I might even start a chili recipes diet book. Chili recipes are a healthy thing if you don’t load it down with added cheese and fat. Lean beef or Ground Turkey is the way to go. Also on most of my chili recipes i suggest that you set it in the frig over night and let all of the fat come to the top and harden. By the way the fat that hardens up is the bad kind of fat that is full of cholesterol.
Chili Recipes are better the second day anyway.

So you say that your tired of the same old chili thing every year for the big game. Well try some thing from the Big Easy then and cook up a big pot of Jambalaya. Its easy and filling and can be spiced up with a big kick so you don’t have to worry about the boys calling you a sissy man. You can add enough spice and heat to a good jambalaya recipe to take the hair off their chest. Jambalaya is easy and cheap to make and tastes great so get over to the link and start cooking some up today.

Well its never to early to start thinking about this years chili recipes. The decision to use an old stand by or to venture out and look for the next chili recipe super star. I am trying to eat better this year so im looking for a great recipe that will not lose anything in its healthiness. Chili is already fairly healthy if you watch the fat content and every thing you add to it is good for your heart. That’s right you heard it here Chili is good for the heart. Onions, Chili’s, and beans are good for lowering blood pressure and cholesterol. So throw some ground turkey in the pot and you have your own heart healthy chili recipe.

Hey as much as i hate to admit it the chili season is turning the wheel over to more summer time dishes. That means that the Potato Salad is about to be the ruleing dish. But all is not lost. Try mixing some of that leftover chili with a chiled mustard based potato salad. It might suprise you.
